From a friend who lives in Seattle. She wanted to make sure my family that lives in Mt. Vernon were okay after the bridge collapse. She remembered that I would schedule a day in Seattle to hang with her when we went to visit my family over there. I hadn’t even heard about the bridge collapse yet, but I was able to check in with my fam and all are okay. Incredibly it sounds like there were only minor injuries. Pretty impressive considering it was 7:00 on a fairly major Interstate.

It’s not at every job, especially since I technically have an office job, where I can walk out to someone else’s office to inquire about some paperwork and they are cornering a bull snake to take it outside… then takes it into the office and some of the ladies I work with were holding the snake. I know bull snakes won’t hurt me but ewww. Plus we have quite a few rattlesnakes round these parts too.

Celebrated a friend’s birthday Friday night. I hadn’t seen him in a while and he said something like Wow! You look fabulous. Yeah, that felt great!
I probably drank too much Friday night, and paid the price all day Saturday. (I am getting so old!)
Yesterday was a clusterf#*k at work. It was horrible having two people out… our office staff is only 6 people. One of my co-workers was determined to make herself the martyr in the situation, even though she was the least impacted by the whole deal. Sometimes work just p!sses me off.
This weekend we’re traveling to a little town just inside Idaho. My cousin will be playing in the NAIA World Series. My aunt and uncle will be traveling up from Utah. I am SO excited to see everyone!
I posted on my dad’s facebook to see how they were doing with the tornadoes in Oklahoma yesterday. He and I struggle with our relationship, but I still love him very much. They moved to Oklahoma just a few years ago from Utah. They were not in the path of any of the tornadoes in the last few days. I did get a kick out of a friend of mine making a comment that I get my affinity for spelling and grammar from both my mom and dad since his responses were all well written with correct spelling.
I am trying to come up for one more meal for six people while camping this weekend. We were thinking of chicken breast and a crockpot but are kinda coming up blank on what to actually do with the chicken in the crockpot and what else to eat with it… anyone have any great recipes they want to share?

Had a nice long phone call with my dearest friend in Salt Lake last night… and I might’ve had a couple glasses of wine, which is a couple more than I would usually have on a weeknight. Got to work and realized I forgot my breakfast. I’m blaming the wine.

Before the last game of the season the coach did a: “Who wants soandso to pitch and who wants Miss T to pitch” thing. Miss T’s feelings were hurt and I felt like singling out these two girls was a bad idea. In 7th grade, the point of sports is to teach teamwork and dedication (IMHO) not to foster bad feelings between teammates. Seems like the guy I talked to heard what I had to say. I don’t like being a complainer and I hope he can understand that I just thought it was something that probably should be addressed. Girls-in-sports has unexpectedly become an issue very close to my heart. I never would have imagined I would become so passionate about ensuring girls have the opportunities and the support to make sports enjoyable for them. Sports has such potential to make an incredible impact on kids, both boys and girls, when facilitated in a positive way. I really wish I had the skills to coach some of Miss T’s teams, but sports were not a thing girls did where and when I grew up, so I didn’t play.

When as I’m putting on mascara I hear the garbage truck down the street and I didn’t put the garbage out last night because it was super windy so I try to hurry and of course blink getting mascara in my eye and all over under my eyes. Luckily the garbage truck was across the street and hadn’t been down my side of the street yet. The truck driver did laugh at me when he saw me dash out of the house to put the garbage at the curb.

It’s a bit breezy out and was rainy earlier. Miss T’s softball practice got cancelled due to the weather. Since it doesn’t make much sense to throw the whiffle balls in this wind, I am standing against the door at the end of the hallway as the batter (helmet and all), and I’m letting her pitch to me. She’s hit me pretty good a couple times… but I think it’s helping her get over being nervous.

I never thought I’d be glad to have to be up earlier on a Saturday than I am during the week. Today is Tori’s softball jamboree and she’s playing two games. It supposed to be hot and humid (for here) but Tori’s games are at 9:00 and 10:00. I am glad that her games are early so I’m not stuck out here in the middle of the day heat!

Last week I did weigh in and it was the same as the week before. Not sure why I didn’t post that… but there’s that.

LW: 218.2

CW: 214.8

difference: 3.4

total lost: 29.6

This also bring me under my goal weight for the dietbet… so as long as it doesn’t go up more than a pound in the next couple days, I’ll be taking my share of the pot home with me!

While eating the sweet potato chips I brought with my lunch I realized I was okay/satisfied with about 4 chips left AND I stopped eating them! I did not feel the need to finish them, like I usually do with food. I set them aside to have later, if I want. Guys this is HUGE for me.
